The Wallaert family were pioneers of the linen and cotton industry in Lille, France, during the late 1800s. Their company launched the
Au Louis d'Or sewing thread which won a medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878.
This antique thread reel, embossed with the Cable Au Louis d'Or name and WF (Wallaert Frères) logo is in beautiful condition for its age. A petit piece of haberdashery history.
