These beautifully rustic and tactile pieces are Chinese ginger jars. Dating back to the 1800's, originally these wee pots would have been used to store food supplies such as herbs and spices. When exporting produce to the West they would often contain ginger, which was considered to be a rare and sought after ingredient of the times, and this is where their name ginger jar was formed. Style these as wonderfully tactile vases or display pieces for a paired back, neutral home interior.
